Thanksgiving Boxes

For ten years, ICS  partnered with Immanuel Bible Church to gather food and assemble Thanksgiving boxes. The boxes are for needy families in the Annandale/North Springfield area including families with students who attend Annandale Terrace Elementary School.

IMG_9863Every class was given a list of non-perishable food and additional items needed to create a tasty “to go” Thanksgiving dinner. It was amazing to see many classes go above and beyond the task of simply filling a box for a Thanksgiving dinner. Some decorated their boxes with Thanksgiving-themed cards featuring turkeys and colorful cornucopias and wrote encouraging notes.  Classes also included beautiful napkins and board games so each family who received a box would be able to serve a meal and spend time as a family making memories together. Our students prayed that every family who received a box would know God’s love for them.

IMG_9853Immanuel Christian School prepared twenty-five Thanksgiving boxes and delivered them to Annandale Terrace Elementary School. The staff appreciated the generosity of the ICS families!

We are blessed to see our students joyfully serve others and give generously to those in need.  In this season of thanks we are thankful for this opportunity make a difference in our community. We pray you take time to reflect on God’s blessings this season.
