IN-DEPTH EXPLORATION OF THE ARTS

Our high school curriculum provides growing opportunities for students to deepen their skills and explore new interests. Embedded in the program is a rotating fine arts module that explores the six main fine arts disciplines. Beyond the module, students can participate in ensembles, regular performances, and student-led opportunities.

FINE ARTS MODULE

A core aspect of the high school curriculum, this module provides students the opportunity to establish basic knowledge of the one of the six main fine art disciplines: painting, sculpture, architecture, music, theater, and dance.

A multi-disciplinary approach encourages students to deepen their own creativity and develop a broad appreciation for the arts. The module culminates in a capstone project, with students choose one area to concentrate their studies that they will present or perform in the Fine Arts Showcase at the end of the year.

SPRING PLAY

Each year, students grow their acting skills through productions such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream or The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. In addition to on-stage roles, students are involved in creating sets and costumes, learning the logistics and inner workings of a theater production.

ENSEMBLES AND CLUBS

Students may audition to participate in the Chapel Band to lead worship for their peers, or join a student-led fine arts club. The high school also hosts a chapter of the International Thespian Society. These co-curriculars provide leadership opportunities for students as they deepen and express their creativity.

FINE ARTS COFFEE HOUSE

Each fall, students have the opportunity to showcase their artistic skills at this special evening event. Ensembles and solo acts sing, dance, recite poetry, and even discuss their visual art creations for an audience. This evening is an opportunity for students to perform for families and peers and share original creations.
