Immanuel Christian School is a community of parents and educators who share a biblical worldview, rooted in Christ with an educational philosophy that inspires our students to excel, according to their own unique gifting and abilities. Positions will be posted as they become known. Staffing needs for the coming school year are not typically identified until the end of March. Once openings have been identified, applications are reviewed and references checked, interviews will be arranged with candidates who are considered a good fit for our school and for the position.

OPENINGS AND APPLICATIONS
All teaching positions require an education degree and classroom experience. Teaching candidates may be asked to teach a class and meet with other teachers at that grade level. Ideally, contracts are offered prior to the end of the current school year.
2018-19 Openings: We are now accepting applications for 6th Grade Teacher (full time), Athletic Director/Boys’ PE Teacher (full time) and a Middle School Math Teacher (part time). Middle School candidates should have an education degree or subject matter expertise.
Teaching Assistant Positions
All teaching assistant positions require classroom experience, either as a volunteer or as an employee. Please download and complete the application below and return to Immanuel Christian School.
2018-19 Openings: We are now accepting applications for Elementary Teaching Assistants (part-time). Classroom experience is preferred.
Substitute teachers (a college degree is required) and Teaching Assistants substitutes (experience working with children is helpful) are always needed.
Current Openings: Now accepting applications for substitute Teachers (Kindergaten-8th grade) and Teaching Assistants (Kindergarten-5th grade). Classroom experience is required.
Educational Resources Positions
NILD© Educational Therapists, Barton Reading & Spelling System tutors, Search & Teach tutors, and general subject tutors assist students with a variety of learning needs. Some of these positions require specialized training.
2018-19 Openings: None.
We are also currently accepting applications for a part-time NILD Educational Therapist (Discovery). Minimum of a B.A./B.S. is required along with Level I therapy training which could be obtained this summer August 13th-17th in Suffolk, Virginia. Extended Care Openings
Our Extended Care program is looking to hire people who enjoy working with children but desire a flexible schedule. This job is perfect for a high school or college-age student who is interested in part-time work after school. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and enthusiastic about working with elementary students. Please contact Allison Masson for further information.
