The purpose of the athletic program at Immanuel Christian School is to provide a God-glorifying avenue for student athletes to participate in interscholastic competition. We believe in the invaluable life-lessons that sports can teach students, lessons that simply cannot be taught in the classroom: how to work together as a team to achieve a common goal, how to give God the honor and glory in victory, and how to trust in the Lord’s sovereignty in defeat and pick each other up in moments of loss. We place extreme value in ensuring that we hire coaches who are going to speak wisdom into our athletes and teach not only necessary skills and strategies but Christ-centered disciplines. While it is our desire to have a competitive program, we are first and foremost committed to upholding God’s truth. Therefore, our primary goal is to show our athletes, as 1 Timothy 4:8 states, that “physical training is of some value, but godliness holds value in all things, holding promise for this life and the life to come.”

ICS is a member of the Northern Virginia Independent Athletic Conference (NVIAC) where we compete in Varsity, JV, and Middle School Athletics.
