Because of the dedication of our parents, we are not simply a school — we are a community of families.

Parents in Partnership is our approach to come alongside families as we carry out our mission to partner with families to inspire students for purposeful lives of learning, godliness, and service.

This is an opportunity for parents to

build relationships    |    serve & volunteer    |    engage    |    equip & educate

Please email our Director of Advancement, Jennifer Baxter at if you are interested in engaging with Parents in Partnership or if you would like more information. We are so thankful for the many parents who volunteer their time and talents for our students each year. We couldn’t do it without you!

Parent Engagement Hours

Parent Engagement Hours allow us to involve parents more consistently in the life of our school and allows every parent to take ownership in the ministry of Immanuel Christian School. When our parents volunteer, they see us in a practical and personal way and stand shoulder to shoulder with other parents in service activities. At the same time, it extends tuition dollars by having volunteers perform some tasks that might otherwise have to be paid for through professional services. Each K-8 family is required to serve a total of 20 hours of service per year. High school only parents are required to serve 10 hours. Single-parent families are required to fulfill half the number of service hours.

Here are some ways parents can partner with Immanuel Christian School

Classroom & Teacher Support: Parents provide support and encouragement. This includes class communications and encouragement, class events and field trips, and teacher affirmation. *This team supports individual grades. Parent volunteers for each class will work on a team with other parents to provide volunteer support in class as well as with specific division-wide events. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve and use your gifts and abilities at ICS.

School-Wide Events & Community Building: Parents help promote fellowship within the ICS community through school-wide events and staff encouragement. This area focuses on the Back 2 School Picnic, Grandparents’ Day and Christmas program, Pasta Palooza, faculty and staff appreciation, Graduation, and other end-of-year events. *We are looking for parents to help lead individual school-wide events. Please let us know if this sounds like something you would like to support.

Parents in Prayer: Parents support the ICS community in prayer through Parents in Prayer meetings, HS prayer initiatives, monthly prayer guides, and classroom prayer sheets. *Parents in Prayer meets on Tuesday mornings. Each month has a different class and school focus.

Character-in-Action: Parents build relationships through hands-on service activities that challenge and encourage Christ-like qualities in our students. *Service opportunities begin in October and last throughout the school year.

Warrior Athletic Booster Club: Immanuel Christian School provides student-athletes with the opportunity to bring glory to Christ through competition. *Join our Warrior Athletic Booster Club!

Parent Institute: Parents come alongside us to support ongoing opportunities to create and plan workshops, seminars, book clubs, and educational events for ICS families. *Please reach out if you would like to be part of the team to help equip our school families with information and tools on current events.

Partnership Giving Society: Parents help us promote and educate the community about our annual financial need to help bridge the gap between tuition and education costs by supporting our mission-critical expenses. This fund includes tuition assistance financial aid; the high school capital campaign; employee professional development; additional academic, athletic, and fine arts programs; and library books and additional instructional resources. *Our own ICS employees gave over $54,000 last year through the employee payroll deduction program.
