We believe one of the strongest ways to encourage exemplary behavior on and off the field is provided through reflection and the opportunity to celebrate accomplishments that were hard earned. Near the close of each year, our student-athletes join together to reflect upon their personal and team accomplishments.

Our coaches carefully select student-athletes from each team who model Christ-like character and leadership, are standout players and make key contributions during competition, and show the most development throughout the season. Individual awards include:

  • Most Improved Player Award for the player who exhibits dedication, discipline and a commitment to self-improvement.
  • Most Valuable Player Award for the player who excels athletically and consistently strives for excellence on the field or court.
  • PACE Award (Positive Attitude Changes Everything) for the player who encourages others and exhibits a positive attitude in the face of adversity.

The Heart of a Warrior Award is also given to both a female and male varsity player who demonstrates emerging leadership, outstanding dedication, remarkable enthusiasm, and uncompromising sportsmanship as a player, teammate and student.

Wayne the Warrior was named by our student body in honor of former Athletic Director, Wayne Davis. Mr. Davis served the ICS community faithfully for twenty years and was influential in developing our athletic program. Much of the success our athletes’ achievements can be credited to the vision and influence of Mr. Davis. Mr. Davis led by example and helped to instill leadership, discipline and excellence on and off the court for our student-athletes.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”
I Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)

Our mascot, Wayne the Warrior, is a frequent visitor at games, all-school events and activities. He reminds our students to be honorable in victory and gracious in defeat while cheering for our athletes as they compete.

Warrior Rock is a new addition to our campus, made possible by a generous donation from Vulcan Materials Company. This 17-ton rock sits just outside of our athletic field and is a reminder to our students to stand firm in their faith.
