We were delighted to showcase the talents of our middle school students on stage this week. Cheered on by their peers and teachers, students sang, danced, recited poetry, performed skits, and showcased original works. Even a few faculty members got in on the fun. Bravo, everyone!

STEM is the focus for this year`s capstone project at the high school, and we`ve been extending that focus down to all grades. Students have additional, in depth opportunities to explore how God made the world and dig in to these essential disciplines through the lens of Scripture.
⚙Thank you to physicist Dr. Jennifer Taylor, mathematician Dr. Erick Smith, and architect Mrs. Jennifer Shuman for coming in to our K-8 STEM Expo to share about their STEM careers with our lower and middle school students.
🚀And, congratulations to our high school Rocketry Club, who qualified for the @rocketcontest national competition with a near-perfect launch!
Our production of "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" takes to the stage TONIGHT! Students have been working hard since October, and we are incredibly grateful for the many parents who have given so much of their time and talents to bring this story to life on stage.
Eighth graders got all dolled up for a Roaring `20s party that was the bee`s knees! Students researched a famous figure from that era, dressed the part, and mixed and mingled as they interviewed each other to complete the history lesson. With jazz music playing and Harlem Renaissance paintings as the backdrop, history was brought to life with a soiree that was truly the Cat`s Meow.
We are delighted to be staging a production of the C. S. Lewis classic "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe", April 18 - 20. Over 50 students in grades 7 - 12 are bringing this magical story to life with intricate sets and even a life-sized Aslan puppet.
“Wrong will be right when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrow will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.” 🦁
When I look at a solar eclipse, I see more than a stunning visual phenomenon. I see what appears to be only the tip of an iceberg, a mountain of finely-tuned qualities defining our privileged place in the universe.…I am reminded that God reveals His truth to us in two ways: through the general revelation of His natural world and through the special revelation of His written word.
Psalm 19 encapsulates this for us beautifully. “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” (Ps. 19:1). There are no words, and yet the message of God’s existence and power is heard everywhere.
But God does more than tell us of His existence. He sets forth a plan for our lives to bring us into fellowship with Himself.

Thank you to @goodcommaclassroom for taking our seventh and eighth graders on a spring break adventure out West! We explored @zionnps @brycecanyonnps_gov @grandcanyonnps and other beautiful sites, rafted down the Colorado River, and hiked many, many miles. It was a fun way to spend spring break, exploring these wonders through a biblical worldview with head, hands, and heart — and tired feet!
Happy Easter ✝️ Today we pause to celebrate the abundant new life available to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because of his sacrifice, we are being transformed into Christ`s likeness, with a God-given purpose both here and in eternity.
Before they left for break, our high school students spent the day serving Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center, Central Union Mission, several senior centers, Fairfax County Schools and Parks, and here on our own campus. Our curriculum engages students` heads, hearts, and hands, giving them opportunities to put their faith into action.

🧪Discovering how God created the world through science.⚙️
Sixth graders designed and carried out their own original experiments, following the scientific method as they tested their hypothesis and explored the biblical applications of their findings.
Students then presented their findings to a panel of judges who work in the STEM fields, who scored the projects based on the students` understanding and communication of what they learned. We`re proud of their hard work and love seeing their knowledge, creativity, and communication skills continue to grow!

Juniors and seniors traveled to Kenya earlier this year to serve at our sister school, Camp Brethren, in Eburru, Kenya. This service-focused TravelTerm trip opened our students eyes and hearts as they experienced culture, geography, history, and the body of Christ in a whole new way.

We are all made in the image of God the Creator. As bearers of His Image, we want to cultivate an appreciation of the arts within our students and encourage them to bring God glory through their creative expression. One aspect of this growing area of our curriculum is the visual arts.
K-12, our students have the opportunity to explore truth and beauty through art. In Kindergarten, students learn about the concentric circles in Kandinsky`s paintings and create their own. As they grow, lower and middle school students learn a variety of styles, mediums, and disciplines, with opportunities to participate in clubs, electives, and ensembles. In high school, students complete our unique fine arts module, an in-depth study of painting, sculpture, architecture, music, theater, and dance.
It is a joy to see these students discover their God-given creative gifts and use them to bring Him glory!

It`s a project that is out of this world! 🌕 @plantthemoonchallenge 🌕
Partnering with NASA, our middle school STEM elective has begun experimenting with food innovations to grow plants on the moon. Our students have designed world class experiments to determine what plants and soil amendments would allow extended missions to plant food on the moon.
The data generated from our students` experiments will be sent to NASA to further research for the Artemis campaign. This exercise is not only beneficial to see if plants can be grown on the moon, but it is also helpful in learning how to raise crops in areas of the earth that have higher levels of metals or face frequent droughts.
We are delighted to be able to offer this learning opportunity for our students and are grateful to @vaspacegrant for providing funding for this unique project.
🥈Our Boys Swim Team won second place at the VISAA State Championship Meet at Virginia Tech this weekend! The team scored the 2nd most points of all DII schools, and were 10th overall out of thirty-one DI and DII schools across the state of Virginia.
