This dynamic approach is designed for a wide range of learners and engages and empowers our students to read fluently and write clearly and eloquently. Carefully selected novels and texts help cultivate a love for language that is good, true, and beautiful.

Communication is a Core Competency

We view communication as a core competency, so our students start presenting as early as kindergarten. Lower school students regularly give book reports and share projects with peers and younger grades, growing students’ confidence and public speaking skills.

Students grow their God-given gifts through regular music and fine arts classes, and can pursue even more interests through after-school clubs starting in kindergarten.

At ICS, students are taught and guided to grow not just academically, but socially and spirituall, as well.
Bible Class & Chapel
Students study God’s Word and memorize scripture in engaging Bible classes. Weekly chapels provide a time of worship and learning as students gather together. Each class begins the day with devotions as students hear God’s Word together and pray for one another.
A Focus on Character
Who our students are becoming is as important as what they are learning. Our curriculum and service opportunities are designed to grow our students in joy, patience, compassion, self-control, responsibility, and other character traits that will allow them to thrive.
Learning Through Service
Serving our school, our community, and our world is an integral part of the lower school experience. Through campus stewardship, visits with residents at neighboring retirement communites and nursing homes, and school-wide food drives, students develop compassion, servant leadership, and a heart for serving others in Jesus’ name.

Academically, our son has made huge strides, especially in math and spelling. Protection & Care Across the Day
ICS takes a comprehensive approach to student safety, combining physical security measures with the kind of emotional support that helps students feel safe, seen, and loved throughout the school day. All building entrances are locked, a police officer is present in the parking lot each day, and a dedicated security officer monitors activity inside and outside of the building.
Technology Used With Intentionality & Wisdom
ICS focuses on exercising the muscles and deep learning necessary for students to learn and communicate with clarity and confidence. Assignments and tests are hand-written and technology use is minimal. Each room is equipped with a SmartBoard, which allows teachers to show educational resources or magnify lesson manipulatives for better clarity. Students have technology class once a week, where they learn core skills that will allow them to to grow into the skills they need as they learn to type and research in lower school and middle school.
