WHO WE ARE

Inspiring Purposeful Lives

These words reflect our vision for Immanuel Christian School. We are a K-12 private Christian School located in Northern Virginia. We are glad to have you as part of our community and we desire to keep you updated with new initiatives, ongoing events, and activities of our school. We do this through simple tools that we all access every single day—email and our website

You may have heard about the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into effect May 25, 2018. As a part of complying with this regulation, we are required to communicate to you what permissions you are granting by being a part of this list and give you a chance to update those permissions. Being a part of this email list and visiting our website means you are giving us permission to send you emails and mailings occasionally.

At the bottom of every email you receive from us is a link to unsubscribe and a link to update your information. To help us comply with the GDPR consent requirements, please take a moment to update your information regarding any additional communication you would like to receive from us.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act). We do not request or knowingly collect any personally identifiable contact information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

Photo and Video Usage of Student Images

Students may occasionally appear in photographs and videos taken by employees, other students, parents or other individuals authorized by ICS. We may use these pictures, without identifying the student, in various publications, including but not limited to, the school yearbook, promotional materials, campaigns, and brochures, and our school website. No consent or notice is needed or will be given before we use pictures of unnamed students taken while they are at school or a school-related activity.

Sometimes, however, we will want to identify a student in a school picture or video. We may want to acknowledge those students who participate in a school activity or deserve special recognition. Parents and guardians sign a consent form annually allowing us the right to publish a picture with a student identified by name in any school-sponsored material, including our yearbook. Granting consent allows us to publish and otherwise use photographs and videos, with the child identified.

Contact Forms

When you RSVP, register to attend an event or complete an online form, you are providing us your information for the purposes stated on the webpage or form. We reserve the right to email you regarding future activities and events associated with Immanuel Christian School. We do not share your information with any other business or individual not associated with ICS. You have the right to unsubscribe from email list at any time.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use the Unbounce platform to build forms and solicit information from individual data subjects (“Lead Data”). In these situations, since you choose which data to collect and process, the nature of the data, as well as the purposes and means of processing, you are acting as “Data Controller” under applicable laws (including, but not limited to, the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”)) and you have the associated responsibilities under these applicable laws.

By providing us with your information, you voluntarily consent to the collection, storage, use, and disclosure of Personal Data as specified in this Privacy Policy.

SHARING YOUR DATA
