Immanuel Christian School is blessed with dedicated, talented and loving faculty and staff who serve our parents and students. While we celebrate the plans God has for each and every one of our team members, it is bittersweet to say goodbye to those who are retiring. This summer we will say farewell to Mrs. Beverly Atkinson, Mrs. Lisa Fisher, and Mrs. Laura Tweed.

Mrs. Atkinson

Since 1995, hundreds of Immanuel students have known and loved Mrs. Ronda Wallis as their third-grade teacher. Ronda first came to ICS as a 2nd grade TA and joined the faculty teaching team the following academic year. After 28 academic years of faithful ministry in Christian education at ICS (and more than three decades of teaching), Mrs. Wallis plans to retire at the end of this academic year. She has loved investing in the lives of her third graders and then watching them grow up to do great things and enjoy success. She has faithfully taught her students through a biblical worldview, discipling, and encouraging them as many made lifelong commitments to follow Jesus. Mrs. Wallis is looking forward to dedicating more time to family and friends, traveling, and joining a weekly daytime Bible study. We still plan on seeing her around the halls as a volunteer on occasion! Thank you, Mrs. Wallis, for your legacy of faithfulness and the eternal impact you have made on so many Immanuel students.

Mrs. Fisher

Mrs. Lisa Fisher has been making a difference at ICS since 2001. She has enthusiastically taught the youngest of kindergarteners to the oldest of 8th graders the important life subject of Health and Physical Education. What you may not know is that Mrs. Fisher spent the first 7 years at ICS as an NILD Specialist. She has also held the title Coach Fisher during her many seasons of coaching the female basketball teams. With her fun style and practical wisdom, teaching physical fitness goals, sportsmanship and Christ-like competition has left a lasting impact on every female student at ICS. We greatly appreciate Mrs. Fisher’s goal that each student develop a love for their health and be good stewards of their body as they honor the Lord. Thank you, Mrs. Fisher, for 25 years of faithful service to the ICS community!

Mrs. Tweed

For the last 33 years, Mrs. Tweed has diligently served Immanuel Christian School with a servant’s heart. She encourage families, faculty, and staff, and friends of ICS to partner in support to make ICS the institution that it is today, to God’s glory. From Office Manager to Development Director to Advancement Director, Laura has facilitated the growth, organization, and sustainability of ICS and has expanded the Immanuel community both locally and globally. Laura leaves a lasting legacy, having dedicated almost three decades to establishing excellence in the kingdom work of Christian education. While she officially retired in 2022, she has so kindly continued assisting our development efforts, most notably through her efforts for our 50th Golden Gala. Thank you, Mrs. Tweed, for your service to the ICS community! If you left her a message when we celebrated her official retirement, you are welcome to do so again or leave another message for her.
