If you are planning for another one of your children to come to ICS for the 2018-2019 school year, now is the time to apply! Applications are steadily coming in and spaces are limited. Log on to your online application account to begin the sibling application today. Sibling application fees are only $75. Forgot your username or password or have any questions? Contact Lauren Gessner, Enrollment Manger.
Applications for tuition assistance are processed online by FACTS. All required documentation is due by April 1. There is a processing fee of $30 for this service. Please remember that a new online application must be completed each year you request tuition assistance. Details are available on our website under Tuition and Financial Aid.
New Tax Law Expands 529 Savings Plans
The recent tax reform law expanded 529 savings plans so that they now allow tax-favored savings for K–12 tuition expenses. The maximum distribution for K–12 tuition is $10,000 per year per child. Parents can now save for both college expenses and K–12 tuition expenses and the earnings will grow free of federal tax. Current 529 account owners may begin using these funds immediately for K–12 tuition expenses. More information is available here.
April: A Month of Prayer for ICS
God provides prayer as the means by which we receive His supernatural guidance and help. Without God’s guidance and the truth found in Scripture, we cannot live a life worthy of the gospel. We invite every parent and student to join with us during the month of April as we thank God for His provision and seek His guidance for ICS.
- Look for parent volunteers during afternoon dismissal walking the carpool line and passing out cards which list specific prayer requests and items of praise for our school.
- Our hope is that each family will set aside time to pray for our school leaders, teachers and families specifically during the month of April.
- School leadership is hard at work planning and making decisions regarding the future of Immanuel Christian High School in addition to the ongoing ministry of the current elementary and middle school programs.
We know prayer is powerful and effective so let’s come together, as a community marked by prayer, to seek God’s wisdom and blessing. More information will be shared throughout the month of April. #Pray4ICS
100 Verse Recitation
There is an opportunity at the end of the 4th quarter for students who wish to quote additional verses to total 100 verses for the year. A special Bible, which the student selects, is awarded for this achievement. Your student’s Bible teacher sent home information about the 100 verse recitation. Please note that all additional verses must be printed and submitted to the Bible teacher by April 21. All students who want to recite 100 verses must complete them by May 21 (retry May 22) for all grades. Please contact your student’s Bible teacher for additional information.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week: April 16-20
The ICS Teacher & Staff Appreciation Luncheon, Tuesday, April 17 is fast approaching. Every year the Parent Teacher Fellowship hosts this event. This year parents of 1st , 3rd and 5th graders will be helping, but we still need a small army of parent volunteers from other grades to help with the many details involved in serving lunch to about 100 ICS employees. There are volunteer opportunities that you can complete at home in the weeks before the event or you could volunteer to set up, serve or clean up on the day of the luncheon. We are also making plans to do something new and exciting for our 2018 PTF gift to teachers and staff. Please make plans to attend our next PTF meeting, Friday, April 6 at 8:30 a.m. in the Hospitality Room to hear all about our gift and find out how you can help practically. Watch for a ParentSquare post to volunteer specifically for the April 17 luncheon and to help with the gift from PTF. If you have any questions, please contact Kay Hoffman, PTF Coordinator.
Visiting Day is Monday, April 16! Invite a friend to attend ICS for a day!
Do you know of a family who is considering a change to private Christian school? Perhaps they have considered Immanuel but feel they need more information? We are offering a great opportunity to show what ICS is all about. Current 3rd through 7th grade students are encouraged to invite a friend to school on Monday, April 16th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All visitors (and their ICS buddies) will enjoy a pizza lunch as well! Job Openings for 2018-2019
ICS is now accepting applications for Elementary School Teachers, Middle School Teachers, Middle School Resource Teacher (part time) and Elementary School Teaching Assistants (part time). ICS Talent Show - Immanuel’s Got Talent: Mark your calendars for May 11!
It’s time to prepare for the 7th annual ICS Talent Show…Immanuel’s Got Talent! We are excited to see what new talent this year brings! We are looking for a variety of acts from students in 5th through 8th grade to be showcased during an all-school assembly on Friday, May 11 (1:30 – 3:00 p.m.). Acts may be individual or group and should be no longer than four minutes in length. Permission forms are available in homerooms (or click here to download a copy) and must be completed and turned in by April 5. Auditions will be held during middle school lunch/recess on April 17 and April 19. If you have any questions, please contact Lauren Gessner.
We Collect Box Tops
Bring your Box Tops in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child(s) name and grade to Reception and make sure you check the dates on the Box Tops as expired dates will not be counted in the totals. Remember to sign up and support ICS here. Once you register, you will have access to coupons for box top products and have the opportunity to play fun games and earn eBox Tops for our school. Immanuel Christian School is accepting applications for substitute teachers (a bachelor’s degree is required). Find the application here. Please send your cover letter, resume and application to Eleane McCoy, Lower School Principal (Grades K-4) or Rachel Reno, Upper School Principal (Grades 5-8).
Lunch and Recess Help Needed
Parent volunteers are needed to help in the lunch room and at recess from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. daily (K-4: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and grades 5-8: 12:45 – 1:30 p.m.). While you help, you can eat lunch with your child, see them interact at recess and get to know fellow parents and your child’s classmates. We are in need of regular volunteers to help one day a week or every other week. Please sign up on ParentSquare.
ICS Basketball Camp: June 18-22
Mark your calendars! ICS will again host its annual ‘funtastic’ basketball camp from Monday – Friday, June 18-22. Camp will be held in the ICS Gym from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Basketball camp is for both boys and girls entering 4th – 9th grades. More information to follow soon.

Vacation Bible School at IBC: June 25-29
Mark your calendars for June 25-29 for the week of Vacation Bible School.
- AM Program – 9:30 a.m. – Noon (4 years old by 9/30/18 – entering 3rdgrade)
- PM Program – 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. (entering 4th– entering 6th grades)
Registration begins April 1st. $15 per child (increases to $20 on May 1st). Hope to see you there!
Hosts Needed for Korean Children’s Choir Visiting IBC: April 13-15
On April 15, IBC will be hosting a Korean Children’s Choir from the Far East Broadcasting Company. The FEBC spreads the gospel via radio to countries like North Korea, China, and Japan. One way they do this is through community outreach with their children’s choirs. We are in need of host families for 32 children. Host families will have the children from Friday, April 13 to Sunday, April 15. Please contact Jennis Horn or Tyler McNally to volunteer or if you have questions.
