Technology Brought from Home

We have updated our guidelines for ICS students and personal technology while on the ICS campus.  Below is the paragraph from the Parent-Student handbook.  The underlined sections are the new additions.  Thank you for your support.

Use of tablet technology (including cell phones, electronic readers, tablets, smart watches or devices with internet capabilities) is a privilege, optional, and acceptable only under teacher supervision for students in grades 3-8 for the purpose of accessing appropriate reading material. Cell phones are not to be used in school except for communication in a situation deemed as emergency by teacher or administration. All readers or tablet devices must be used for reading purposes (no games) and are managed and monitored by the classroom teacher. Students may not wear devices that have the capacity to connect to the internet. These must be in a backpack along with cellphones, Fitbits and other devices that are text message capable may be worn but may not be used to send/receive text messages while at school. ICS is not responsible for any loss of or damage to these devices. Use of these devices is considered a privilege which may be revoked at any time by the supervising teacher or administration.

Express Your Appreciation to Mrs. Mary Sue Smith for 20 years of service to ICS!

Immanuel Christian School is blessed with dedicated, talented and loving faculty and staff who serve our parents and students. Please take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Mary Sue Smith, Receptionist, for her 20 years of faithful service to the students, parents and teachers of ICS. You may also upload a picture using the file upload option.  Don’t forget to include your name with each entry! Submit your notes of appreciation here.  The deadline for submitting your notes of appreciation is March 15. Thank you for blessing Mrs. Smith with your words!

Note from Clinic

We are seeing students at school with fevers, sore throats and upset stomachs.  If your child is complaining about any of the above symptoms, please be sure to take their temperature before coming to school. Students are not allowed to come to school if they have vomited or had diarrhea within the last 24 hours. They must also stay home if they have had a fever of 100 degrees (or higher) within the last 24 hours. Students may return to school after being fever-free for 24 hours without being on fever-reducing medication (Tylenol or Motrin). Thank you in advance for doing your part in keeping our kids from spreading illness.

Label Jackets, School Uniforms and PE Uniforms with Student’s Name

Winter is here!  Please label your items with your student’s name.  Many school clothing items are left behind after PE and sports activities. Items with a name in them will be returned to the student.

We Collect Box Tops

Bring your Box Tops in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child(s) name and grade to Reception and make sure you check the dates on the Box Tops as expired dates will not be counted in the totals. Remember to sign up and support ICS here. Once you register, you will have access to coupons for box top products and have the opportunity to play fun games and earn eBox Tops for our school. If you have questions, please contact our coordinator, Jennifer deVallance.
