As we embark on a new semester, Fun Lunch is in need of volunteers to help serve on select Wednesdays, from 11:00 to 1:30, in the Terrace Room. This is a fantastic way of building fellowship with other parents while connecting with your children. Parent volunteers are treated to lunch as our way of saying “Thanks”! Lunches will begin for the new semester on January 31 and end on May 23, 2018. Volunteer signups are located on ParentSquare website; parents may volunteer for Malek’s, Papa John’s, Chick-fil-A, and Subway’s Request for Volunteers. If you have any questions regarding volunteering for fun lunch, please contact Donna Melendez.

Smart Lunches: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday Lunch Option

In addition to our Wednesday Fun Lunches above, ICS partners with Smart Lunches © to offer a daily lunch option. You may select a hot or cold option and order as often or as little as you need! Technology Brought From Home

We have updated our guidelines for ICS students and personal technology while on the ICS campus.  Below is the paragraph from the Parent-Student handbook.  The underlined sections are the new additions.  Thank you for your support.

Use of tablet technology (including cell phones, electronic readers, tablets, smart watches or devices with internet capabilities) is a privilege, optional, and acceptable only under teacher supervision for students in grades 3-8 for the purpose of accessing appropriate reading material. Cell phones are not to be used in school except for communication in a situation deemed as emergency by teacher or administration. All readers or tablet devices must be used for reading purposes (no games) and are managed and monitored by the classroom teacher. Students may not wear devices that have the capacity to connect to the internet. These must be in a backpack along with cellphones, Fitbits and other devices that are text message capable may be worn but may not be used to send/receive text messages while at school. ICS is not responsible for any loss of or damage to these devices. Use of these devices is considered a privilege which may be revoked at any time by the supervising teacher or administration.

Note from Clinic

We are seeing students at school with fevers, sore throats and upset stomachs.  If your child is complaining about any of the above symptoms, please be sure to take their temperature before coming to school. Students are not allowed to come to school if they have vomited or had diarrhea within the last 24 hours. They must also stay home if they have had a fever of 100 degrees (or higher) within the last 24 hours. Students may return to school after being fever-free for 24 hours without being on fever-reducing medication (Tylenol or Motrin). Thank you in advance for doing your part in keeping our kids from spreading illness.

Label Jackets, School Uniforms and PE Uniforms with Student’s Name

Winter is here!  Please label your items with your student’s name.  Many school clothing items are left behind after PE and sports activities. Items with a name in them will be returned to the student.

We Collect Box Tops

Bring your Box Tops in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child(s) name and grade to Reception and make sure you check the dates on the Box Tops as expired dates will not be counted in the totals. Remember to sign up and support ICS here. Once you register, you will have access to coupons for box top products and have the opportunity to play fun games and earn eBox Tops for our school. If you have questions, please contact our coordinator, Jennifer deVallance.

Immanuel Christian School is accepting applications for substitute teachers (a bachelor’s degree is required).  Find the application here.  Please send your cover letter, resume and application to Eleane McCoy, Lower School Principal (K-Grade 4) or Rachel Reno, Upper School Principal (Grades 5-8).

We are in need of regular volunteers to help one day a week or every other week. To help with lunch, contact Lola Hollenbeck, Lunchroom Coordinator and to help with recess contact Art Merkel, Recess Supervisor.  Please sign up on ParentSquare.
