Prayer Guide: October 24 – November 11, 2016

Our 2016-17 Bonus Verse:

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Hebrews 4:15-16

Parents in Prayer – Please join us on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. after morning drop-off.

You are invited to join other parents every Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. to pray for our students, our teachers and staff.  This is a vital ministry that benefits all of us at ICS.  Parents meet in B201, at the end of the 8th grade hallway.  Your child’s class and teachers will be prayed for specifically during the year.  Contact Mary Sue Smith in Reception for more information.  You are welcome to drop in when you can and especially when your child’s class is being featured!

To pray for our own children:  O Sovereign Lord, deal well with ________ for Your name’s sake, out of the goodness of Your love, deliver ________.    From Psalm 109:21

Parent Teacher Conferences – Please pray for all of the teachers as they prepare for conferences in November.   Pray for the parents and teachers as they meet together, for wisdom, discernment and grace as each student’s progress is reviewed.   Praise to God for bringing us through our first quarter of the school year and for His many blessings to us as a school.

Health Issues for ICS staff and families – Pray especially for those who are struggling with a variety of health-related issues including seasonal colds and viruses.

Fall Sports continue – Please pray for our 3 soccer teams, JV boys & Varsity boys and girls that they would learn excellent sportsmanship and enjoy the fun of being on a team with fellow students.  Thank God for the fine coaches we have for these teams!

Basketball Season starting up— Basketball tryouts will begin in mid-November, for Boys and Girls Varsity and JV teams. Please pray for the students as they try out and for the coaches as they choose teams and begin the new season.

First Look Fridays — Pray that our tour guides will represent ICS well to the prospective parents who are visiting.  Prior to Christmas break, we will have two First Look Fridays – October 28 and December 2.

Serve-A-Thon 2016 – We thank God for the exciting opportunities our students and teachers have had to put their faith into action in the last two weeks. Please pray for the fundraising as we seek to raise money for essential funds for ICS and our international sister schools.

  • Week 3 & Beyond – October 24-28
    • Last week for fundraising. Please pray for 100% participation and for each class to meet their Serve-A-Thon fundraising goals.
    • Rally on October 25
    • U Did It Day on November 4

Please pray especially for the Advancement Team:

Pray for the Advancement Team as they oversee our communication with the public, welcome new families and promote fundraising.  Serve-A-Thon, open houses, a big fundraising event in the spring, alumni relations, social media and all of our promotional efforts are planned and carried out by the Advancement Team.

Please pray especially for the Library Team:  Erika McKellop, Julianna Mays and Kristin Griffin

Please pray for the Library Team as they collaborate with teachers in current projects and seek to help create new projects which support the curriculum. Pray for them as they seek to encourage students in their reading abilities and with book suggestions. Pray for students’ spiritual discernment in learning to research and to read broadly in all subject areas. Please also pray for us as we prepare for the Book Fair, November 1-4, reading for book talks, setting up the displays and training volunteers.
