April 15th ICS Gala – Please pray for the Gala committee as they finalize details for “A Night at the Ballpark”. Please pray that many people would join us to celebrate our school’s 40th anniversary at the Gala. Pray that in addition to a special evening of fellowship, we would be able to raise essential funds for the school. Please pray for the speakers at our Gala that they would effectively convey our message to all in attendance.

Admissions – Please pray for good attendance at this next event: First Look Friday on March 11. Please continue to pray for God to bring to ICS the families of His choice for next school year.

Elementary Choir – Please pray for Cindy Wade as she prepares and directs the Choir for their Spring musical, and also their brief performance at the ICS Gala on April 15, in the evening.

Parent Teacher Fellowship – Please pray especially for Kay Hoffman, our current PTF coordinator, as she puts together a team of parents to plan upcoming events.

Rocketry Club – Pray for the Rocketry Club as students complete their final design and participate in qualifying rounds for the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC).  Pray that the ICS rocket will make the final 100 teams and be able to participate in the TARC National Finals in May.

Parents in Prayer – Please join us on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. after morning drop-off, in Room B201.
You are welcome to drop in when you can, especially when your child’s class is being featured.

March 1 – God is the King of Glory

To pray for our own children: May ________ tell of the glory of Your kingdom and speak of Your might, so that all may know of Your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom. From Psalm 145:11-12

March 8 – God is Life
Scripture:
Nehemiah 9:6; John 5:21; John 6:47-51
To pray for our own children:
Make known to ________ the path of life; fill ________ with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.   From Psalm 16:11

March 15 – God is Light
Scripture:
John 8:12; Psalm 119:105, 130; II Samuel 22:29
To pray for our own children:
May ________ put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.   From Romans 13:12b

Please pray for the following ICS Staff:

Cindy Houttekier and Susan Colletti, Nurses
Pray for safety for our students, discernment and wisdom as we assess students in the clinic, protection from flu in the school during the winter flu season, and wisdom to balance work/home life.

Daniel Padilla, Lunchroom Supervisor
Pray for continued wisdom in helping the students to use self-control in the lunchroom & show grace to one another.
Pray for needed additional parent volunteers for the remainder of the school year.

Julie Neville, Recess Supervisor
Pray for parent helpers to join in the recess fun during the 1st-4th grade recess time, 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Pray for Julie and all of the students to stay healthy during the spring allergy season.

Projects/Skills:  Penguin study and Poetry unit: Students are writing an original penguin poem to read at the upcoming 1st Grade Winter Poetry Readings.
Prayer Requests:
  Please pray for good health and continued focus during the remainder of the school year. Pray for the 1B students to continue to learn responsibility as we finish out the year strong.

7B – Jon Duncan, Teacher

Character Traits:  Kindness and responsibility Class Verse:  “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.” Phil. 4:8
Projects/Skills:  Students are learning about the Constitution and American Government in History. In Bible, they are studying Early Church History and working to memorize Romans 8:28-39. In English they are reading and studying short stories.  An upcoming Science field trip on the Potomac River is scheduled for the spring.
Prayer Requests:  Pray that the students will continue to grow in handing the responsibilities of being a 7th grader (i.e., taking more independent responsibility for their work, keeping the hallway clean, etc.).  Also, pray that the students will continue to grow in the way they treat their classmates, with grace and kindness.

Lower School Spanish (K-4) – Sarah Garcia, Teacher

Character Traits:  Respect for fellow students
Class Verses: They are memorizing in Spanish: Psalms 147:4 and John 13:13
Projects/Skills:  Learning basic Spanish and beginning to write in Spanish.
Prayer Requests: Please pray for wisdom for each student to understand what it means to please God,
and for diligence to memorize their verses.
