School Schedule for Christmas

December 18: Last day of school; noon dismissal (No Extended Care)

December 21 – January 3: Christmas Break

January 4: Classes Resume

All are invited to Immanuel Christian School's Christmas Program and Grandparents’ Day – December 18.

All family and friends are invited to join our students for the Christmas Program on Friday, December 18 at 8:45 a.m. in the Worship Center. All students will be sharing Christmas music and drama. Grandparents will be recognized during the assembly and can enjoy visiting classrooms following the program. We look forward to seeing you as our students share the joy of Christmas.

Schedule for the day:

  • All School Christmas Program: 8:45-10:00 a.m. (doors open at 8:15 a.m.)
  • Refreshments in Atrium for grandparents: 10:00-10:30 a.m.
  • Alumni Reunion Brunch: 10:00-11:30 a.m.
  • Classroom Visits: 10:30 a.m. – noon
  • Dismissal: noon

Student Attire for Christmas Program:

  • Grades K-2: Nice dress clothes. No jeans please.
  • Grades 3-6: Black pants/skirts and solid red top

Questions?  Below are some of the commonly asked questions and answers.

  • May parents and siblings attend the Christmas program?  Yes!  Everyone is invited.
  • Are parents able to visit the classrooms with the grandparents?  We request that only grandparents or special guests visit the classrooms because space is limited.  If grandparents need special assistance, please contact Kim Akers.
  • Do my guests need to RSVP?  Yes, we would love to know about how many guests to expect.  The RSVP can be mailed back to ICS or can be completed online through the ICS website.
  • If I am mailing the invitation do I still need to update my grandparent information on ParentsWeb?  Yes, we would like to know grandparent contact information so we can mail them a Christmas greeting.
  • May I help? Certainly!  Lots of help is needed so please click here to volunteer.

Alumni Reunion Brunch on Grandparents' Day – Spread the word!

Christmas is just around the corner and is a great time to reconnect with former ICS classmates!  We are extending an invitation to all ICS alumni to join us for the Christmas Program, followed by a brunch in their honor, Friday, December 18 from 10:00-11:30 a.m.  Last year’s event was a big success and we look forward to seeing many of our alumni back on campus. Enjoy a delicious brunch, catch up with former classmates and see how ICS has changed. Click to RSVP.  Questions?  Email Sarah Pinkley,

ICS Christmas Ornaments are here!!

Come pick up your ICS Christmas ornament today! For $20 you can pick one up at reception, main office, during hallway dismissal or online. The 8th grade class will also be selling ornaments during Grandparents’ Day. This is a great keepsake ornaments for family, students and alumni. All profits benefit the 8th grade class.

Celebration Books for Grandparents

Honor your grandparents in a unique and lasting way.  Consider adopting a Celebration Book in their name for Grandparents’ Day.  A personalized bookplate honoring your grandparent(s) will be affixed inside your chosen book and presented to them on Grandparents’ Day.  Come see the librarian for requested titles available in the library.  Enjoy the book over Christmas then return it in January as a part of our permanent ICS collection.  Remember celebration books are a tax-deductible gift.

Goodbye Mr. Landis, Hello Mrs. Neville

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Mr. Dana Landis. Dana has been hired to play in the Jacksonville symphony and will head south when Christmas break begins in a couple days!  We are excited for this new opportunity for him and his family. Mr. Landis has done a great job with our orchestra and will be missed.

Julie Neville, one of our 2nd grade TA’s, has been hired to be our Recess Supervisor beginning in January.  We are looking forward to having Julie outside with our students during recess!

Thank You Senora Paula Michael

Our Upper School Spanish teacher, Paula Michael, has decided that God is leading her to make a transition after this month.  Senora Michael’s last day will be Dec. 18th.  We are thankful for her passion for excellence, and for all that she has given to our students this semester.  We have begun a search for a new Upper School Spanish teacher who would start in January.

Winter After School Clubs – Register Now

Registration is underway for the winter session of After School Clubs. Art Club began on November 30 and the rest of the clubs start the week of January 11, 2016. Elementary Choir starts in March on Mondays as well. Registration for all winter classes can also be found on the website. The deadline for registration is December 16. If you are planning for another one of your children to come to ICS for the 2016-2017 school year, now is the time to apply! Applications are steadily coming in and spaces are limited. Second Tuition Payment for the 2015-2016 School Year

If you are paying tuition on the semi-annual plan, the 2nd payment will be due January 15.  FACTS withdrawals will be made on that date.  If you have any questions, contact Mandy Croushore, Finance Director.

Wednesday Fun Lunch: 2nd Semester Orders due by January 20

We serve Fun Lunch on Wednesdays during the school year: Subway, Malek’s Pasta, Domino’s Pizza, and Chick-Fil-A are delivered on a rotating basis. You have the flexibility to choose any or all meals, a semester at a time (NO weekly ordering). The second semester of meals must be pre-ordered online and paid for by January 20. Smart Lunch: Monday - Friday Lunch Option

In addition to our Wednesday Fun Lunches above, ICS partners with Smart Lunches © to offer a daily lunch option. You may select a hot or cold option and order as often or as little as you need! Orders can be placed or changed up to three days in advance. Parent Service Hours

Parent Service Hours for the first semester are due January 15. Please record your Parent Service Hours on ParentsWeb. Log into ParentsWeb, click on Family Information, your name, and then the Service Hours tab. Select your service description and enter the hours, note what you did, and add the contact person in “verified by.” To enter hours served by another family member, just add it to one of the parent’s accounts. Lost and Found

Lost and Found items are on display in the glass breezeway today. Items not claimed will be donated tomorrow, December 11. 

ICS Gala and Auction on Friday, April 15

Auction Wish List:

This is our first auction in many years and we are excited for this opportunity to raise funds for our students and teachers. We know that many ICS parents have connections and relationships that will assist the Auction Committee as they gather items for the live and silent auction but we need to know who you are! Please contact Allison Masson and let her know if you have some of the following connections or are willing to donate items or experiences:

Seeking Live Auction Chairperson(s)

Gala Help Needed!

We are looking for a few good men and women to join the 40th Anniversary Gala team. The Gala Committee is being formed for our big celebration on April 15. Here’s a sneak peak at our theme: “A Night at the Ballpark”. Please contact Allison Masson if you are interested. Come join us!

ICS Basketball Season 2015-2016

Basketball season is here! Come support our boys and girls JV and Varsity teams!

Practice dates and game dates are available for you here, as well as on the school calendar on the ICS website. There are hard copies available outside the Upper School office and the main office.

We Collect Box Tops

Bring your Box Tops in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child(s) name and grade to Reception and make sure you check the dates on the Box Tops as expired dates will not be counted in the totals. Remember to sign up and support ICS here. Once you register, you will have access to coupons for box top products and have the opportunity to play fun games and earn eBox Tops for our school. If you have questions, please contact our coordinator, Jennifer deVallance.

Substitutes Needed

Immanuel Christian School is accepting applications for substitute teachers (a bachelor’s degree is required).  Find the application here.  Please send your cover letter, resume and application to Eleane McCoy, Lower School Principal (K-Grade 4) or Erin Smith, Upper School Principal (Grades 5-8).

Lunch and Recess Help Needed

Parent volunteers are needed to help in the lunch room and at recess from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. daily (K-4: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and grades 5-8: 12:45-1:30 p.m.). While you help, you can eat lunch with your child, see them interact at recess and get to know fellow parents and your child’s classmates. We are in need of regular volunteers to help one day a week or every other week. Your help gives our teachers a little break in the middle of their day to enjoy their lunch. To help with lunch, contact Daniel Padilla, Lunchroom Coordinator and to help with recess contact Dale Pinkley.

Extended Care Employees Needed

Extended Care is in need of several more employees starting as soon as possible. As long as you are 16 years old (minimum age requirement) and love working with children, please consider joining our team! Your hours can be flexible so this is a great job for someone who needs part-time work. Please contact Allison Masson for information and an application.

Coming This Spring – Women’s Conference!

This spring, March 4-5, Immanuel Bible Church has the privilege to welcome acclaimed speaker and Bible study author, Nancy Guthrie, for our Women’s Spring Conference right here at Immanuel.  Nancy will be teaching on the lives of Joseph, Job and David as she answers the question, Can This Possibly Be God’s Good Plan For my Life?  Early bird registration is open to all women whether you call Immanuel your home church or not.  Register now to get the early bird rate and be entered to win one of three giveaways at the conference.  Register online or in the Immanuel Christian Bookstore.
