Immanuel Christian School is pleased to announce we have been named a 2015 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Immanuel Christian School is one of only fifty private schools nationally and one of only five private schools in Virginia to be designated as a National Blue Ribbon School this year. Midyear goodbyes are always difficult as some move and others transition into new roles. We want to thank Shawna Nimocks and Karen Brinson for their years of faithful service to students, parents, co-workers and above all, the Lord, as they transition from ICS this month.
We want to welcome Christy Kruger to our kindergarten team as the KB Teaching Assistant and Lisa Oliver to our 2nd grade team as the 2B Teaching Assistant.
Serve-A-Thon 2015 Season of Service UPDATE
We are serving DIFFERENTLY this year because the service projects are taking place over three weeks instead of just one week!
A great success! Thank you parent volunteers. We can’t do Serve-A-Thon without you! “THAT WAS FUN!” “We had a GREAT time!” “Can we do that AGAIN?” These are the expressions that fill the halls as our students serve and return from their service opportunities. Our kindergarten students worked hard mulching, picking up trash, weeding and planting flowers and also cleaning the IBC Worship Center. Check out the beautiful flowers by the ICS sign and flag! Our 2nd grade students worked hard cleaning Deerlick Park, unclogging our ICS creek after the heavy rains and encouraging the Immanuel Bible Church staff by delivering hand written notes and goodies to their offices with big smiles and hugs.
Our serving continues this week. On Thursday, our 6th and 8th grade students will travel to DC and serve students and teachers at Garfield Elementary School. On Friday our 5th grade students will serve four local fire stations and clean Fairfax County parks.
We have raised $6,831. As students serve, remember to send out the link to the Team Fundraising pages so family and friends can support and encourage the classes.
Col 3:17 “And WHATEVER you DO, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
