Parents in Prayer – Please join us on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. after morning drop-off.
You are invited to join other parents every Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. to pray for our students, our teachers and staff.  This is a vital ministry that benefits all of us at ICS.  Parents meet in B201, at the end of the 8th grade hallway.  Your child’s class and teachers will be prayed for specifically during the year.  Contact Mary Sue Smith in Reception for more information.  You are welcome to drop in when you can and especially when your child’s class is being featured!  Our ICS Prayer Guide is sent to every family via email, approximately every three weeks during the school year.  Please take advantage of this Prayer Guide and pray for the needs that are outlined there, even if you cannot come to Parents in Prayer each week.

Please pray for our soccer teams, JV & Varsity, both boys and girls, as well as our co-ed JV & Varsity Cross Country teams, that they would learn excellent sportsmanship and enjoy the fun of being on a team with fellow students. Thank God for the fine coaches we have for each of these teams!

Featured Classes for Prayer: KA and 8A

Kindergarten A – Miss Danielle King, Teacher; Mrs. Jackie Kim, TA

Character Traits:  Kindness and Respect
Class Verse:  Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another.”
Projects/Skills:
We are studying the letter “O”, learning about the life cycle of apple trees, exploring the five senses that God gave us, and practicing number skills like counting, number formation, and patterns.
Prayer Requests:  Please pray for us as we continue to grow as a KA family and transition into a new year and new environment. Pray that the students would continue to develop their listening skills, display obedience to teachers as God calls us to obey, and to show God’s love and kindness to others.

8A – Mrs. Tammy Shondelmyer, Teacher

Character Traits:  Responsibility and Respect
Class Verse:  Philippians 2:3-4
“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind, let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests but also for the interests of others.”
Projects/Skills:  Learning to write well!  This is an important 8th grade skill to take from ICS into future learning environments (high school, college, university).
Language Arts:  This involves all aspects of using good grammar, developing an expanded vocabulary, employing good paragraph construction, and reading good literature as a point of reference.  The 8th grade students have a number of writing assignments this year—each an opportunity to utilize all areas of Language Arts in a single project.
Prayer Requests
:

  • Please pray that our 8th graders would have hearts that embrace what it means to be a whole-hearted follower of Jesus, that they would recognize how much they are loved, and that their hearts would be tender and sensitive to other people around them.
  • Pray for the thoughts and conversations that are going to take place now that they have returned from their Wilderness Trip.  They will be given opportunities through class discussion and various writing assignments to process all they experienced on the Wilderness Trip and often the discussions are very insightful!

Please be praying for these KA and 8A students:
