Fun Lunch Orders Due January 16

Hot Lunch online ordering will be open through tomorrow, January 16, 2015To sign-up, click the link here which will take you to the Fun Lunch ordering page. Important Note: This is your ONLY opportunity to order Fun Lunch for your student for the 2nd semester. Once the orders are closed no orders will be accepted for the remainder of the year. The Fun Lunch schedule for 2nd semester runs from February 4 – May 27, 2015. Contact Lori Slattery, Fun Lunch Coordinator at 703.338.8828 or email if you have questions.

Parent Service Hours Due

Parent Service Hours for the first semester are due January 15. To record your Parent Service Hours on ParentsWeb, click on Family Information, your name, and then the Service Hour tab. Select your service description and enter the hours, note what you did, and add the contact person in “verified by.” Contact Sharon Dotson, Finance Assistant, in the main office at 703.941.1220 if you have any questions.

Second Tuition Payment Due

If you are paying tuition on the semi-annual plan, the 2nd payment is due January 15. FACTS withdrawals will be made on that date. If you have any questions, contact Mandy Croushore, Director of Finance.

Re-Enrollment is Coming Soon

AUTOMATIC RE-ENROLLMENT for 2015-2016 will take place in February and deposits will be collected through FACTS in March. Watch for IMPORTANT details in the Re-Enrollment Packet coming home with your child in mid-February.

2015-2016 Sibling Enrollment Now Due

We are already receiving online applications for new students for next school year. ICS families should now complete applications for new siblings. Click here to apply. You may add this information to your current account or create a new one if you have not done so in the past. You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. All-School Dress Down Day: January 28

There will be an all-school dress down day, Wednesday, January 28 marking the end of the 2nd quarter.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found will be on display Tuesday – Thursday, January 20-22 in the breezeway. All items not claimed by January 22 will be donated to Immanuel’s Hope Ministry.

MS Midterm Exam Schedule

The Middle School exams will be given Tuesday – Thursday, January 20-22. Parents, please do not schedule doctor appointments during these days. Note that exam days will be regular full days for students.

  • Tuesday, January 20 – LA Comprehensive Mid-Term for 8A/8B
  • Wednesday, January 21 – 6th Grade Math (Math 6&7) & LA Essay Mid-Term for 8A/8B
  • Thursday, January 22 – Math Mid-Term for 8A/B

Tardy Policy

Students are to be dropped off at school no later than 8:20AM.  Our teachers are picking up their classes from the gym at 8:20AM so students can unpack their belongings and start their day in a timely manner.  If you are dropping your child off after 8:20AM,  come in to the school reception area and sign your child(ren) in for the day.  When students arrive late they are missing important instructional time and it is disruptive to the teaching process when students enter the classroom after instruction has begun.  Tardies are recorded by our teachers, and may be reflected on a student’s report card.

Please Label Clothing with Names

Winter is here! The weather is colder and jackets and sweaters are being worn to school. Please label your items with your student’s name. Many school clothing items are left behind after PE and sports activities. Items with a name in them will be returned to the student.

Note from Clinic

We are seeing a large number of students at school with fevers, sore throats and upset stomachs.  If your child is complaining about any of the above symptoms, please be sure to take their temperature before going to school.  Your child is not allowed to come to school if they have vomited or had diarrhea within the last 24 hours.  They must also stay home if they have had a fever of 100 degrees (or higher) within the last 24 hours.  They may return to school after being fever-free for 24 hours without being on fever-reducing medication (Tylenol or Motrin).  Thank you in advance for doing your part in keeping our kids from spreading illness.

High School Selection Seminar: January 22

Join us for a parent panel discussion about the high school selection process. Hear about the variety of high school options – public, private, parochial, military and home school, as well as factors to consider when choosing a high school. Lunch & Recess Help Needed

Parent volunteers are needed to help in the lunch room and at recess from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. daily (K-4: 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. and grades 5-8: 12:45 p.m. -1:30 p.m.). While you help, you can eat lunch with your child, see them interact at recess and get to know fellow parents and your child’s classmates. We are in need of regular volunteers to help one day a week or every other week. Your help gives our teachers a little break in the middle of their day to enjoy their lunch. Please contact Art Merkel, Lunchroom Supervisor or Todd Westfall, Recess Supervisor, if you would like to volunteer.

 

IBC Women’s Ministry Events

Stories – Sharing Our Stories, No Two Alike

Mark your calendars and plan now to join IBC Women’s Ministry for a special evening January 23, at 7:00 p.m. Women from Immanuel Bible Church will share their stories through words, music, AND visual arts.  This will be a great opportunity to invite your neighbor, co-worker or new friend to hear how the Gospel changes our stories.  Look for more information and registration coming soon.  If you would like to share part of God’s story in your life through Visual Arts, we would love to hear from you.  Please email us. 

Women’s Retreat: March 6-8, 2015
